How HealthUnlocked handles spam

HealthUnlocked aims to keep all communities safe, supportive, and free from disruptive behaviour. Spam can appear on any online platform, but we take several steps to detect, review, and remove this content as quickly as possible.

What counts as spam?

Spam can include:

  • Repeated or irrelevant posts
  • Advertising or promotional content
  • Fake accounts created to disrupt communities

How we deal with it

We use a combination of automated tools and human moderation to identify and remove this behaviour.

Our moderation process includes:

  • Flagging suspicious content through automated systems
  • Reviewing reports submitted by community members
  • Removing posts or comments that break our guidelines
  • Restricting or banning accounts that repeatedly behave inappropriately

Why spam might still appear

Even with prevention tools in place, some spam may still be visible briefly, especially if it’s posted suddenly or in large volumes. When this happens, your reports help us act more quickly.

What you can do

If you see spam or anything that makes the community feel unsafe:

  • Use the Report button on the post, comment, or profile
  • Provide any helpful context in your report

Your reports help our moderation team keep HealthUnlocked safe for everyone.
