Code of Conduct for Moderation Team Members

When you become a moderation team member on the HealthUnlocked platform, you agree to follow this Code of Conduct. 

HealthUnlocked is an online platform where individuals facing similar health challenges can connect and offer mutual support. 

A moderation team member refers to anyone who moderates or supports a HealthUnlocked community, including those with badges such as Partner, Administrator, or Moderator. 

This Code of Conduct outlines what is expected of moderation team members: 

Facilitate a positive and supportive atmosphere 

  • Set a good example by communicating in a warm, caring, considerate, and empathetic way. 
  • Encourage and support members to actively participate in the community. 
  • Prevent, de-escalate, and resolve conflicts as quickly as possible. 

Manage content actively and fairly 

  • Encourage all members to promptly report content that may be harmful. 
  • Review and moderate content to the best of your ability.  
  • Use science-backed information to correct misinformation or disinformation. 
  • Contact members privately to clarify moderation actions. 
  • Seek HealthUnlocked’s advice when dealing with high-risk, dangerous content, which may include self-harm, bullying, or abuse. 

Act professionally and follow legal regulations 

  • Take into account any constructive feedback that you receive on your moderation actions. 
  • Maintain confidentiality by never publicly disclosing information shared with you by community members or HealthUnlocked without prior approval. 
  • Be respectful in your communications with all members and the HealthUnlocked team.  
  • Refrain from providing advice that could be interpreted as a health expert’s professional opinion. 
  • Refrain from promoting or advertising any prescription-only medications. 
  • Refrain from claiming to represent or act on behalf of HealthUnlocked. 
  • Comply with HealthUnlocked’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. 

To offer optimal support and guidance on the HealthUnlocked platform, moderation team members must adhere to this code of conduct. Any breaches will be addressed by HealthUnlocked, with appropriate action taken as necessary.
